About Nurture Haven

  • What makes Nurture Haven different from other childcare agencies?
    We are Massachusetts' premier expert childcare agency. This means our entire process, from caregiver vetting to safety protocols, is informed by professional healthcare expertise. Furthermore, all of our sitters and event caregivers are our direct W2 employees—fully insured, professionally managed, and committed to a higher standard of care.
  • Are your caregivers employees or contractors?
    All caregivers on our Sitter Club and Event Care teams are our W2 employees. This is a key part of our commitment to professionalism and safety. It means we handle all their payroll and taxes, and they are covered by our liability and worker's compensation insurance. For our Permanent Nanny Placements, we guide you through the process of becoming a household employer for your nanny.

The Sitter Club Membership

  • How does The Sitter Club work?
    The Sitter Club is a membership that gives you exclusive, flexible access to our team of professional, RN-vetted caregivers. We offer three tiers to fit your family's needs, whether you need an occasional date night sitter, frequent backup care, or a dedicated caregiver on a consistent weekly schedule.
  • Can I book a sitter without a membership?
    Yes, we offer one-time bookings for a $50 booking fee plus our standard hourly rate, based on caregiver availability. However, most families find our Flex Care membership ($59/month for up to 6 bookings with no fees) is a significantly better value.
  • What is your cancellation policy for sitter bookings?
    For our Flex Care and Flex Unlimited members, we require 48 hours' notice to cancel a booking without a fee. For our premium Consistent Care members, all scheduled hours are guaranteed by the family to ensure the caregiver's dedicated availability for that recurring schedule.

The Placement Process

  • What is the nanny placement process like?
    Our signature 4-Step Process includes a deep-dive consultation, a customized search and expert vetting process, the presentation of a curated portfolio of top-tier candidates, and full support with contracts, payroll setup, and post-placement check-ins.
  • Do you help with the employment contract and nanny taxes?
    Absolutely. This is a cornerstone of our service. We provide expert guidance and resources to help you create a fair and compliant work agreement and set up legal household payroll for your new employee.
  • How long does the placement process take?
    The typical placement process takes 2-4 weeks from initial consultation to final placement. This timeline can vary based on your specific requirements and the availability of qualified candidates.

Nanny Qualifications

  • What qualifications do your nannies have?
    All our nannies have a minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience, current CPR and First Aid certification, and pass our comprehensive background checks. Many have additional qualifications in early childhood education, special needs care, or related fields.
  • Do you have nannies with special needs experience?
    Yes! We have nannies with specialized experience in caring for children with various needs, including developmental delays, medical conditions, and learning differences. Our expert process ensures we match families with caregivers who have the appropriate experience and training.
  • What if the nanny placement doesn't work out?
    We offer a 30-day guarantee on all nanny placements. If the placement doesn't work out within the first 30 days, we'll work with you to find a replacement at no additional cost.

  • What types of events do you support?
    We provide fully-staffed, expert childcare for a wide range of private and public events, including weddings, corporate functions, conferences, religious services, and community galas.
  • How is Event Care priced?
    Our quotes are customized for each event. They typically include a one-time Administrative & Equipment Fee plus a per-caregiver hourly rate that is based on the number of children and our strict safety ratios.
  • How far in advance should I book event care?
    We recommend booking event care at least 2-4 weeks in advance, especially for larger events or peak seasons. This ensures we can provide the optimal caregiver-to-child ratios and coordinate all logistics seamlessly.

  • What do you provide for event care?
    We provide everything needed for a successful event: professional caregivers, age-appropriate activities and supplies, liability insurance, and a dedicated on-site lead to coordinate with your event team.
  • Do you work with event planners?
    Yes! We regularly partner with event planners, wedding coordinators, and corporate event managers to provide seamless childcare solutions. We handle all the details so you can focus on your event.
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my event?
    We understand that plans can change. We offer flexible cancellation policies based on the timing of your request and the size of your event. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.

Joining Our Team

  • How do I apply to become a caregiver?
    You can apply to join our team by filling out our online application. We'll review your qualifications and contact you within 2-3 business days to discuss next steps.

  • How do I get paid?
    As a W-2 employee, you'll receive regular payroll with all taxes handled for you. You can choose between direct deposit or check, and you'll receive detailed pay stubs for your records.
